“Candycane” Crib Rods
This rod is commonly known as the “candy cane” style crib rod due to it’s rounded top. This rounded top rod has since been discontinued due to a safety concern. It was redesigned into the square top rod CR709 in order to eliminate the airspace that was present between the round of the candy cane rod and the wood of the headboard or footboard of the crib. This airspace resulted in the safety concern of small fingers and/or clothing ties having the possibility of getting caught and becoming a pinch point and/or strangulation hazard. The redesigned CR709 rod assembles flush up against the wood therefore safeguarding against the potential problems associated with the airspace of the candy cane rod. If your crib has the candy cane rods we strongly suggest replacing them with the CR709 crib rods.
