Safety Checklist
THIS IS IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ
pp52099ee3.png
- Whenever refinishing a crib always use water based and/or solvent lead free paints and finishes.

- When using an older or used baby crib we suggest replacing the plastic teething rails.  Our teething rails are made from first quality FDA approved virgin resin.  If not replacing, be sure to remove and clean plastic rails and wood surface under rails with warm water and an antibacterial nontoxic cleaner.

- All children at or about 35” tall or active climbing age need to be removed from the standard baby crib and placed into a toddler or youth bed.  Your child is most active at this stage of development. Most accidents occur after this very active age of 35” tall and/or walking.

- Make sure all slats or spindles on side rails are not loose, cracked or missing.  Also check airspace measurement.

- When using an older baby crib make sure the headboard and footboard do not have “cutouts” that a baby’s head could get caught between.  If your crib has these “cutouts” we recommend not using the crib. See picture.

-  If your crib has a side that slides on “candy cane” shaped rods please check here for specific safety info.

- Do not place your crib near draperies or blinds, which may become a strangulation hazard if your baby becomes entangled in them.

- Make sure your crib mattress fits into the crib with less than two fingers distance between the edge of the mattress and the crib side.

- Be sure to check the mattress spring attachment regularly to make sure it has not become disconnected or broken, if it has reconnect or replace with the appropriate parts. Call Products America for direct assistance at (800)205-9642 or (800)772-1041.  Check here for more info.
